INFRARED

infrared body wrapAn Infrared Body Wrap can provide one with many benefits and has been used for many years with exceptional results.  Below is some compiled information that will help you to make a better choice and understand why you should consider an infrared body wrap as part of your overall health and body maintenance.

An Infrared Body Wrap and infrared saunas utilize the healing range of the light spectrum.  The heat from an infrared body wrap is much more tolerable in a body wrap or sauna because the heat is object oriented and heats your body instead of just heating the air.  The air stays a comfortable temperature so you don’t feel like you are suffocating.

Is an infrared body wrap safe to use? Yes.  Infrared body wraps, as well as infrared saunas are not only safe but quite beneficial, but as with any product you may want to try and use, it is always best to get the most information possible.  It is always best, if you should have any questions or concerns to always check with our physician or health care provider before beginning any treatment.  To learn more about infrared wraps and to use safely, check here.

infrared body wrapIt has been said and well noted that an Infrared body Wrap is a superb way to help the body to release toxins trapped underneath the skin and even deep within the body; as sweating is very beneficial to helping the body to detoxify itself. It aids in ridding the body of accumulated highly toxic metals (lead, mercury, nickel, and cadmium) as well as alcohol, nicotine, sulfuric acid and other organic and inorganic compounds.

Kathryn Pekarik NW Hospital Cancer TreatmentThe picture on the right was taken after giving my 27 year old daughter, Kathryn, an infrared wrap treatment (no creams or lotions were used).  Usually after her previous infrared treatments before having cancer the fluid from her sweating in the plastic is clear to a bit cloudy.  I started giving her infrared treatments two months after her 8th round of chemo (4 days of chemo every 21 days for 8 treatments) in order to help rid her body of the excess “bloat” that the chemo caused.  FOR MORE INFORMATION

It is important to rinse off or wipe off with a damp towel after taking utilizing the benefits of an infrared body wrap or even an infrared sauna to remove any released toxins that may be left on the skin.  If you don’t rinse off, it is likely that you may get a little rash or just itch a bit.  It is also important to make sure you replace electrolytes that are lost during sweating.

“Traditional wisdom has suggested that an infrared body wrap works by promoting detoxification through the sweating.  Sweating helps to stimulate cells to release toxins, which can then be eliminated by the liver and bowel. Several published studies have now shown that this hypothermic therapy can bring on the rapid removal of a wide range of toxic substances from the human body.” John C. Some benefits of an Infrared Body Wrap or Infrared Sauna are:

RELIEVES MUSCLE PAIN

The deep heat helps peripheral blood vessels dilate, bringing relief and healing to muscle and soft tissue injuries.  Infrared heat reduces soreness on nerve endings and muscle spasms as muscle joints and fibers are heated.

INCREASED BLOOD CIRCULATION

Help the body to carry off metabolic waste products and delivers oxygen-rich blood to oxygen-depleted muscle, so they recover faster.

IMPROVES THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

Infrared heat will raise your core body temperature, inducing an artificial fever. Fever is the body’s natural mechanism to strengthen and accelerate the immune response, as seen in the case of infection. This enhanced immune system, combined with improved elimination of toxins and wastes via intense sweating, increases your overall health and resistance to disease.

REMOVES TOXINS

Infrared heat increases your blood circulation and stimulates the sweat glands, releasing built up toxins in the body.  Because the infrared wraps help heat the body from the inside out and the infrared penetrates about 1 ½ inches deep and forces the sweat from the deeper level, toxins are easily removed helping the body to feel ‘cleaner’.

IMPROVES THE APPEARANCE OF CELLULITE

Cellulite is a common term used to describe superficial pockets of trapped fat, which cause uneven dimpling or “orange peel” skin. Cellulite occurs in the subcutaneous fat layer just beneath your skin. Your skin is connected to the underlying muscle by vertical strands of tissue. The combination of this connective tissue pulling in on your skin and fatty deposits and fibrosis pushing out against your skin cause the dimpled appearance of cellulite.

Since far infrared radiant heat warms three times as deeply as conventional saunas, it is significantly more effective at reducing cellulite. There is a direct link between the slowing of metabolic rates and the storage of toxins in fat cells. Sauna use and infrared heat can increase heart rate and localized blood circulation, which essentially reverses the above-mentioned trends towards the accumulation of liquids in the fat cells to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

HELPS WITH WEIGHT LOSS

Because infrared helps to rev up the metabolism and increases blood flow, it only makes sense that when the body is operating in a more optimal manner that it is able to help those who use infrared to lose weight.  In fact, infrared has been known to help burn over 400 calories per hour of usage.  Learn more here.

Again, as with any product or service you may want to try and might have any questions about, consult your physician or health care provider before trying anything new.

Hi. I could use some pro help on this topic. I see so many Infrared systems-options out there. Many seem so similar yet the price swings to purchase for the salon owner use is all over the place. OF course each company claiming theirs is the best. How can I decide which system is true and what features to look for that are actually important to the service.. and…> does spending more for a system = better in this case? From several hundred to several thousand is a huge swing of investment. Most look alike. Temps-zones/3 or 4 mostly.. Materials made seemingly the same .. Time is similar. One is self serve while all the others look like an attendant is needed or some for home use look just like the commercial grade claimed ones.. .. How to decide what system or lotions-potions in combination to offer? Thank you. If you can advise some I would be grateful. ~:) Lj

      Hi Lj,

Yes, I know what you mean about all of the options…and I have tried them all!
Please feel free to contact me directly at 630-343-9730 and we can discuss the best option for you. I use infrared with and without the lotions-potions and I also have clients that I wrap in elastic bandages before I put them in the infrared blanket…there is a bit of a difference in each.

Do call and let’s talk…I would love to help you in any way I can in making your decision easier.

      Andrea
