Blog or Website, Which is Best for Your Spa and Salon Business?

Blog or Website?  I get asked this question all of the time:  “Is it OK to just have a website or do I also need to have a blog?”

A website is a stahands raised for spa and salon blog postsndard, business “tool” that is static by nature:  in other words, it stays the same with basic info, service menu and descriptions.  It stays that way until you add another service.  Whereas a blog is “active” and always growing; providing up to date information about your business (events, client stories, staff training, tips to keep your client engaged and is extremely more visible on the internet than your website.

Add a Spa and Salon Blog to Your Marketing Campaign – A Wise Spa and Salon Business Decision.  Here’s why…

A Spa or Salon blog or website is important to every business, but there is a bit of a difference.

Wise business people; whether “brick and mortar” or home-based businesses and internet marketers are incorporating blogs or blogging into their marketing campaign. The constant urge to return time and time again is a gold mine to be treasured. After all, isn’t that exactly what a business owner’s goal is; to draw people in and get them to revisit often. Search engine robots will not neglect a site that has regularly updated data. In fact, they love blogs!

Blogging is a win-win situation that you do not want to neglect.  And…

For most businesses, their greatest expense or investment in their business is advertising. The best form of advertising is FREE advertising! If you can get a local newspaper, radio, or television station to find interest in you and your business, it is a shoe-in that you will get coverage and great exposure for FREE. Why pay, if you don’t have to, right?

Blogs are the answer to free advertising in the virtual world.

Search engines will gather your latest news and broadcast them worldwide while you sit back and enjoy the exposure. Search engines index your site free of charge and heavy traffic is being directed to your virtual doorstep without costing you a penny.

we never closeNot only will blogs save you a bundle of money in advertising fees, but the very nature of blogs saves you time. We business people are busy people who could use a little extra time for ourselves. It doesn’t seem possible that something as short and sweet as a spa and salon blog could generate as much interest as a monthly newsletter or sales letter. But we smart business people are finding this to be the truth. Plus, just like your website, your spa blog or salon blog is available to everyone 24/7 where your current information, your stories, and your business will keep them interest.

Here is a tip. If you already have a website, it is better to have a blog as part of your website instead of a stand-alone blog. This way the search engines will better rank your website, since the blog is generating new and relevant content.  Which simply means they will find you because you are constantly updating and will

However, a Spa and Salon Blog can stand alone and also act as a website. You will need to decide what is best for you and your business.

When blogging, be sure to set a specific day or days per week to add to your blog. You will find that people will come back again and again to see what you have to say when you are regularly posting. So take their time and effort into account and give them a reason to return.

What do you “talk” about on your blog? Anything and everything; whatever you are comfortable with and fits within your personality and the business you are trying to project. No one recommends posting anything unethical, immoral or illegal… controversial maybe, but do think before you write.

blogging at the beachRemember your spa and salon blog posts do not have to be lengthy. Just “chat” about what is on your mind or relevant to your business. It is also wise to give knowledge and teach something that you know. We humans love to know things and are always seeking a way to better ourselves, even if it is just a favorite quote or even a recipe you may have to share.  And don’t forget to let them get to know YOU better!

Most importantly….Let your personality show in your Spa and Salon Blog. Gain your viewers confidence and keep them coming back….again and again.
