Spa Marketing is Vital to Your Spa Marketing

Spa MarketingMy how time flies!  I has been three years since I wrote this article.  Although the content still holds true, there are a few things that have changed since 2009.  In the ever evolving technological world, sometimes it is just too hard to keep up.  The good thing is that most of the old tried and true methods of keeping in touch with your clients has stayed the same.

It is important to note that whether you are an existing spa or salon or brand new to this industry, you must always concentrate on keeping the client coming back again and again, as well as “wowing” them each and every time with your outstanding customer service, products and treatments so that they will be your major form or advertising.  Better knows as “referral marketing.”

I would have prefer to call this article, “In House Marketing is Vital to Your Spa and Salon Business Success.”  For the top five ‘in house’ marketing strategies……

With that being said, having “Systems” in place prior to opening your new business doors and if you are an established spa or salon then start today to put as many ways for your clients to refer others as you possibly can.  These ”Systems” are your ‘In House Marketing Campaigns’ and should be in constant, and consistent motion.

I have revised and updated accordingly.  Oh and as you can see by the title above, it is “keyword” rich and geared toward anyone wanting more information on Spa Marketing.

Spa marketing can be a bit different than marketing a different kind of business other than a spa or salon business. Finding new customers can be quite a daunting task when owning a new spa business. Even an established spa business always has to keep their ongoing search for new clients through advertising and marketing on their minds and daily tasks.

I firmly believe that consistent, persistent marketing is the key to any spa business’ success whether a new or established spa business. Of course finding what works for your business is part of the bigger marketing strategy that you will eventually have to work out based on what techniques are working and what spa marketing programs are not working.

Did you know that it takes about 6 – 7 times for a potential client to see one of your advertisements or hear any of your commercials before they will actually pick up the phone or walk into your business? Did you also know that just because they call or walk in, does not mean they will always buy or book an appointment.  It takes ten times just to finally get their attention, ridiculous right? But true!

Once you do get them as a client it is very important to keep them and the proper “In House” spa marketing is the key.

  • Did you get their information in order to be able to keep your business in front of them and on their minds through emails, direct marketing, or voice broadcasting (text broadcasting is latest technology)?
  • Did you rebook them for their next appointment before they leave?
  • Did you ask questions to see how they heard about you?

Since this customer has already put some trust into your spa business, they will be more willing to keep buying products and services from you in the future. It is fatal to the salon and spa business when too much focus is spent on bringing in new clients, instead of paying closer attention to the clients they already have.

Did you know that it takes about 10 times more money to attract a new client that it does to keep the ones that you have? Spa marketing can be very expensive unless you also capitalize on the clients you do obtain from your initial spa marketing efforts and bring them back through your door again and again.

Think about this: If you spent $1000 on an ad that brought you 10 new clients, each new client cost you $100 dollars. Of course if that same ad brought in 100 new clients, now each client cost you $10. I think you get the point.

Now let’s just imagine that you keep running that same ad and each time it brings you 10 new clients (oh and by the way they would have had to hear or see your ad at least 6 times even before contacting you!), pretty good, huh? Not really, when you consider that if you handled the first 10 new clients with the proper marketing strategies, they would come back again and again and it wouldn’t be costing you $100 each time to bring them back into your spa business.

I have noticed in my business when using simple marketing strategies to keep my spa business in front of my current clients and always wanting more, I have to spend very little to keep their business and getting them to bring in their family and friends.

Here are five effective “IN House” spa marketing tips:

1. Monthly Newsletters

2. Bi-weekly Autoresponder Emails

3. Voice Broadcasting  (Text Broadcasting is the updated technology.)

4. Direct Mail

5. Referral Program(s)
